''Vogue was founded in New York in 1892 as a society magazine and bought by Condé Nast in 1909. The British Vogue was founded in 1916. In October 1976, it celebrated its Diamond Jubilee. This book covers 60 years of reporting fashion, beauty, people, plays, decoration, manners and attitudes, scince 1916 till 1975. They also embrace some of the most crowded changes in social history and, in particular, the part that women took in society and the world.
The preface was written by Beatrix Miller, the Editor of Vogue in 1976.
